Product description

Silver pendant Mother’s Day 2012 with dedication proof

Mother’s Day is a lovely and important holiday when all children honour and thank their mothers regardless of their age. It is observed on various days in a number of places worldwide. In the Czech Republic, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May.

The silver pendant is a very fitting and traditional present for your mothers.

The core motif of the obverse side shows hands wrapped around a heart and an inscription „Mámě“ (To Mother) above it. The author of the obverse side design is Jakub Rusnáček, the winner of the children’s art competition organized in 2011 by the Czech Mint in all primary school in the Czech Republic. The design was then transferred into a relief by the graduate of the Higher School of Applied Arts in Jablonec nad Nisou, Petra Kobrlová.

The reverse side designed by Majka Wichnerová leaves a free space in the form of a scroll embellished by leaves where personal details can be engraved upon request. The rim of the medallion is decorated with border beads, also called astragal, a favourite adornment reminiscent of a string of pearls created in the ancient times and used in Bohemia since the Renaissance period.
