In modern days retirement does not mean quitting work, letting everything go or dropping all previous activities. On the contrary, it opens a whole new space of possibilities. It gives you time to enjoy life to the full, spend precious moments with your friends and family, travel, explore and do things you like. The author, sculptor Luboš Charvát, managed to express these thoughts and optimistic view on life on the medal. For the obverse side he chose the motif of the sun with a figure in the centre. Pointing towards the figure there are names of various activities such as travel, friends, family, etc. On the reverse side of the medal there is a horn of abundance and selected symbols of the things we can fully enjoy after retirement.
